钱德勒在帮乔伊对台词，乔伊要扮演的这个角色是吸烟的，而乔伊在《老友记》里不吸烟，所以有过烟龄的钱德勒在教乔伊如何正确的吸烟。也正是如此，钱德勒又一次染上了烟瘾，在第一季第三集中有诸多钱德勒吸烟的镜头。

Chandler:Hey,that was really good!

Joey:Yeah? Thanks!Let`s? keep going.

Chandler:Okay.”So,Whaddya want from me,Damone,huh?”
（你想我怎样?）
Joey:”I just wanna go back to my cell.`Cause in my cell（n.单人房间，尤指监狱或寺院的）,I can smoke.”
（我只想回到我的牢房，因为在那里我可以抽烟。）
Chandler:”Smoke away.”（去吸烟吧?。?br>
Chandler:I think this is probably why Damone smokes in his cell alone.
（乔伊不吸烟，所以他要打火的时候把打火机弹飞了，于是钱德勒嘲笑这是他独自在牢房吸烟的原因。言外之意，乔伊独自躲在牢房里吸烟是怕别人嘲笑他如此不连贯的吸点烟动作，一点都体现不出来吸烟的cool ，没能表现出对吸烟的渴望。）
Joey:What?
Chandler:Relax your hand!Let your wrist go.
（手要放松，手腕自然点。）
Not so much! （钱德勒要乔伊放松手腕，结果乔伊太放松，差点烟就掉了。）All right,now try taking a puff（吐烟，puff? n.一阵喷烟）, Okay...No,Give it to me.
（乔伊吐烟的动作一点都不酷，他是满脸嫌弃的吐出来的）
Joey:No no no. I am not giving you a cigarette.
（休想，我是不会给你烟的。）
（钱德勒经过长期的坚持才成功戒烟）
Chandler:It`s fine,it`s fine.Look,do you wanna get this part,or not?（好啦，好啦，你到底想不想要拿到这个角色?）Here.All right,now.Don`t think of it as a cigarette.Think of? it as the thing that`s been missing from your hand.When you`re holding it,you feel right,you feel complete.

（oh my God这句话绝对经典，听到就很搞笑，也确实很销魂。听得出钱德勒对吸烟的渴望以及吸到烟之后的满足。）
