On the morning of October 20, 2024, I went to the hospital for a follow-up checkup. At the end of July, I noticed some skin allergies. Today, the doctor examined me and told me that after two months of medication, my symptoms have significantly improved. The doctor prescribed three more weeks of medicine for me to continue taking, and asked me to come back for another checkup after three weeks. If the symptoms decrease further, the dosage can be reduced.
I also went to the ENT department for an ear check. The doctor mentioned that the ointment prescribed last time couldn’t reach the deepest part of my ear, so there’s still some inflammation. He prescribed two types of ear drops, mixed them together for me, and advised me to use five drops each time. He also suggested warming the ear drops slightly before using them to avoid the cold sensation in my ear. Additionally, he prescribed an oral medication to help reduce my allergies.
I was very happy to meet such a responsible doctor. When I went to the pharmacy to pick up my medicine, the pharmacist professionally reminded me that the oral medication for my skin and the one for my ear infection have the same effect. She suggested I confirm with the two doctors whether I needed to reduce one of the oral medications. After confirming with both doctors, it was decided that I should only take the medication for my skin allergy, and temporarily stop the other one.
On the way home, I reflected on my experience at the hospital today. First, seeing a doctor is a very important matter. I need to carefully verify every step, including the doctors’ advice and the instructions on the medication. I’m also very grateful to the three doctors I met today. They were all very responsible for my health, and I want to say thank you to them.
