Do you agree or disagree the following statement:
The more money a person has, the more should he or she give away the charities
With the development of the economy and theconsciousness of helping others, more and more wealthy people donate theirmoney in charity to help the poor. So people differ greatly towards whether theamount of the donation is determined by how much money people possess. Some people claim that it is compulsory and important for rich to give away theirmoney to the charities, while others hold an opposite opinion. To my knowledge, I am more convinced by the latter statement.
First, the rich men get their money by their hard work rather than by given. In other words, the wealthy took their effort to make money, so it is themselves' right to decide how to expend their money. Also, it is their right to decide whether to give money to charity, which is not a compulsory task for them. Take the newest generation of millionire for example. They got their wealth by investing on bitcoin, but some argue that their income comes from their luck rather than their effort, and they should donate some. But others oppose. At first, their bitcoin, which cannot be supervised by any government or law, represents the freedom on wealth. They think facing the risk, building the bitcoin ecosystem and believing in the conception are also methods of effort, which cannot be ingnored because their cost is also nonnegligible. So it is them rather than others, who become the new millionire.
Besides, except the directly donation, the wealth of richer have other ways to reward to the society. For instance, I see some sale mechine which sell some toys under my school, and on the surface of mechine, the tutorial at last says that every toy which you buy will means that the company which sells it will donate several percent of the price to the charities. And In everytime I go through the mechaine, I choose to buy one. I think it is really a wise activity. Because it not only improves their income by attracting people who want help others but as a matter of fact they do the donation to help ones who really need the money and other resources.
However, it is not means that the wealthy people shouldn't give money to charity. It is true that donating is always been welcomed by society. And a host of world-famous fund lack money to reach their goal, like protecting environment, saving endangered animals and so on. In fact, many celebrities have done a lot, for example, Cheng Long, the Chinese famous movies star, did a lot of charities after he became wealthy. His step appears from earthquake stricken area to poverty suffered area, from Hongkong to China mainland, from Asia to the whole world. Nevertheless, what they have done is still their choice which satisfies their hobby or meet the preference, and they don't have any compulsory on it.
In conclusion, it is the wealth's right to give money to charity but it is not compulsory, and if they do that, they should be admired, if not, they shouldn't be criticised.
